Daniel Toutain International Academy
Daniel Toutain, has been a certified French instructor ('Diplôme d'Etat')
since 1977. He was a direct student of the late Master Morihiro Saito.
He now perpetuates the teachings of Master Saito within the
Daniel Toutain International Academy,
which has numerous representatives in France and abroad (see the list of representatives of
the Daniel Toutain International Academy)
Background
Iwama Ryu France has grown from the Dojo of Daniel Toutain in Rennes.
Over time, the size of the group has developed considerably both in France and abroad.
Moreover, since the passing of Saito Sensei, there have been many organisations formed
with the aim of promoting the Aikido of Iwama.
Today, Daniel Toutain has a large number of students in France and throughout the world.
For some time now, these people have expressed a desire to be identified with a group,
or international school. Daniel Toutain has decided to respond to this wish
After consultation with most of the teachers concerned, it has been mutually agreed
that the name: "Daniel Toutain International Academy" will represent the
international group of Daniel Toutain's students that practice the Iwama style of
Aikido he teaches.
Diplomas, international Aikido passports and various certificates will all now use
the name of this school. They will be available shortly.
Note that the express wish of Daniel Toutain is that all representatives of the
"Daniel Toutain International Academy" remain independent.
That is to say, they are free to join any national federations of their choice.

Training and Development
All representatives of the Daniel Toutain International Academy train regularly
during the numerous seminars
directed by Daniel Toutain. In particular, there are workshops specifically for
black belts (Yudansha) and teachers (dojo cho), as well as
student internships (Uchi Deshi).
Each year, Daniel Toutain is contacted by teachers and practitioners in France, and
other countries, who desire to discover and explore the Aikido of Iwama taught by
Saito Sensei. Subsequently, many would like to join the
Daniel Toutain International Academy.
The Daniel Toutain International Academy is effectively open to all teachers and
practitioners who would like to study the Aikido of Iwama.
